Just before 1901, Australia consisted of six independent British colonies. copyright usage wasn't popular, and when required British or other national passports ended up applied. From the 19th century, paroled convicts have been issued a style of interior copyright termed "ticket of go away", which enabled them to move freely amongst the colonies.[
